		<description>It IS legal in other states!  As far as land based sportsbooks, you are right in saying that it is only legal in Nevada.  If you are interested in wagering on sports, then online sportsbooks offer the same service and it is legal in most states!  Even in the 13 states where it is considered illegal, there has never been any prosecutions!  Check out for more information and help.</description>

		<description>I think the reason is that sports gambling is so damn hard to regulate. Not to say that other games of chance aren't difficult to regulate like Poker, Blackjack, Craps, Baccarat etc, but there is so much more money involved in sports gambling than these games. I don't think that anybody considers Nevada "special" in and out of the fact that one state is difficult enough to regulate let alone 50. Besides that, many states allow wagering on sports such as dog or horse racing. Just because it isn't legal doesn't necessarily mean it isn't tolerable. NASCAR or Superbowl pool anyone?</description>
