Start looking as early as possible.

Book early, Southwest has the best prices. Hotels are going to be spendy. They know your coming they know they’ll fill rooms. Not sure what to tell you there.
As far as having a hotel on the strip. I would’nt get to hung up on that. I stay off the strip every year about 25 miles from it. I live here. Stay NEAR the strip take a taxi in and out. Even if you stay on the strip, you’re prolly not going to use your room you’ll be down ON the strip. Unless you plan to stay in and party. But then what’s the point of being on the strip if you’re staying in the room? know what I mean? Good luck be safe here and be cool when you’re here. It’s easy to have a great time. But Metro does not play. If you fight or break something you’ll get arrested post haste.

Try Southwest and also try Spirit Airlines (out of Atlantic City). There are a few good hotels on the strip (Harrahs; MGM; Luxor; Flamingo (go rooms only)).

    Southwest Airlines for sure.
Go to to compare airfare quickly!
    Also try.
This is a little known smaller hotel / casino, these rooms are affordable and the atmosphere is one big party. Located center strip right next to Harrahs.
    Good Luck

There is no such thing as cheap over the New Year’s holidays. Even the $ 60 motel rooms will be three times as much or more. Airlines are all expensive for any holiday. The hotels on the strip are never cheap. Of course I don’t know what you consider cheap. Is $300 or $400 a night cheap? I don’t think so. When I go I stay at Sunset station or The Fiesta in Henderson. They are 15min. from the strip and are really nice hotel/casinos. They will be more expensive on New Years to, but you can check.

    Book trough either:
    Travelocity (www.travelocity.com) — OR — Hotwire
    (www.hotwire.com)
These 2 sites give the BEST deals on combos: airfare & hotel booked together.

A NICE hotel for a GOOD deal: The Excaliber… it also is home to Coyote Ugly bar and links to the MGM Grand hotel, just across the street.

Check out Hotwire and Travelocity for best deals for The Excaliber… it is on the strip, centrally located, decent rooms, and a GREAT price!
    Good luck! : )
