How strict are the casinos in Vegas about booking a room for 2, but sleeping 4?

dan b asked:

I have never been to Vegas and am looking forward to going in May.

There are four of us going and we are all but ready to book a room @ a very nice hotel.

If we book 2 instead of 4, we save 210$ over three nights. However, I would hate to get there and be forced to pay for another room or even get kicked out.

So, what are the odds we can pull it off?

As long as you are not loud and bothersome, no one really cares… I’ve done room for 4 but roomed 10+ ppl… we just asked for a cot and extra pillows/blankets…

They don’t care. They’re too busy to follow you to your room to make sure there’s only 2 people. My friends and I do it all the time! Not only in Vegas, but every other place too! Book for 2, trust me, they’ll never know!

I do it all the time don’t worry about it!

They aren’t going to your room if there are more than four people!

Just walk in at different times! Like two people will wait outside as you go into the hotel!

    Have fun in Vegas!

The odds are 99.5% you will pull it off. The realistic answer is that they have no way to control who or how many people are in the rooms. Some of these Vegas hotels may have over 5000 people checked in at one time. They just dont have the time or manpower to care..This isnt summer camp where the couselors check to see if you have a girl in your room. As long as you are not loud, or making a disturbance, they wont care what you are doing inside your room.

However, to avoid any possible issues— dont all go check-in together. The other potential problem is that they may only give you two keys. So its possible that some people may not have their own room key. This could potentially cause issues trying to enter the pool area, but even that is doubtful. As with anything else, just be smart and you will be fine having 4 people sleep in the room.

Just like any other hotel. Only have the 2 guys that booked the room together check in together. then meet up with the other 2 people or have them come up to the room after you get to it. Just don’t be rude, loud, and obvious.

They will love it - they make their money off the number of people losing $$$$ in their casinos.. You just doubled their money-

The above people are correct in my opinion. Here is one more thought:

Leave the housekeeper a minimum of $5.00 per day ($10 is better….remember, you are saving over $200) on a pillow. This way you will be assured of a good supply of linens and she is unlikely to report a varience in occupants. Believe me, it is the person who cleans your room that will know the truth.

People do that all the time. No one really cares about you that much to follow and make sure its only two people. Just behave and don’t act too crazy, because even if its two people if your loud and crazy you can still get kicked out so that dont really matter. Good luck hope you all win lots of money…

You can probably pull it off, much easier than you can in a place like NYC where they are much stricter.

However, inexpensive rooms are a basic commodity in Las Vegas. Why would you want to be so uncomfortable. I’m assuming your hotel room is $70 a night so you are planning on spending $17.50 per person per night. Stay at Terrible’s Casino across from the Hard Rock for about $40 per room per night, and just walk to the Hard rock. Check out the Sahara Hotel (classic casino from the 1950’s) and you can get a room for $30 to $40 per night midweek. Remember that when you are staying in the nicer casinos buffets are more likely to be $20 per person instead of $10. Also booze, water, bar drinks, are more money. Gambling amounts are higher (especially at table games). You can always visit the nice casinos. It’s not worth it with four people sharing one shower.

There is not one chance in hell you will get caught! This is totally normal Vegas behavior - people pile up in hotel rooms till all hours of the night partying that certainly aren’t paying for it - why should u be any different?! :) If you need a good deal on a hotel for Vegas, check - you can stay for almost nothing using a voucher, & NOT have to sit thru a timeshare pitch - we got the Paris hotel with them before!

Just remember to request for roller beds early and to book two Queen’s to start with. Last time we did that, they didn’t even have roller beds coz they said they ran out…
