How much money should I bring to Vegas?
Miguel asked:
It will be my 21st birthday at the end of August and me and some buddies are planning a trip to Vegas. I’ve been there when I was younger but don’t know how much it would cost. My hotel is being paid for by my friends, so I need to know what is a good amount to bring to enjoy myself? I will be there for 3 days and 2 nights. I plan on gambling and going to bars and all that fun stuff. Thanks.

Las Vegas is much more expensive than it used to be. You don’t say where you’ll be staying, but if you’re going to be drinking and gambling, plan on bringing quite a bit (I spent over a thousand on a trip with my sister not including the hotel and food). Gambling can drain your funds really quickly, so be careful about drinking before gambling ;o)

$10,000.00 . that should cover it. Only you know how much you should bring. What ever it is plan on spending even more. If you dont have a plan or budget … even that amount will not be enough.

I will assume you are coming on Friday and leaving on Sunday. Try and check in early and have a meeting at the main center bar at your hotel with your group. Buy a round so the trip starts out great.
Figure out your meal plans in advance. Make sure to see the free sights such as the Bellagio fountains. Enjoy some time at the swimming pool and fitness center at your hotel. You might enjoy the roller coaster at NewYorkNewYork.
$500 should be enough for your trip if you plan on winning at gambling.

You can expect to pay $7-10 for a beer and $15 for a drink at a club. Recommend going to a Liquor store and pre-partying before you go out so you can save some money.

On average, many will play depending on the casino anyywhere from 100 to 250 per day, (strip Hotels) Downtown casino less, Off strip hotel about the same as downtown. Everything on the strip, with small exceptions, (bar area) is three times the price as clubs off strip. I know where to buy beers for 1.00 or less all day. The more information you have, the better the idea you will have, don’t bring cash, let your buddies pay for most, it’s your birthday. (and if not, use your Credit card) Summer time in Vegas, is normally cheaper to visit, Summer is like –off season– for Vegas.
