Try Imperial Palace and the Tropicana. Those are the lowest priced properties right on the strip.

Imperial Palace and Flamingo are in great areas of the strip, and are pretty cheap. I really liked Flamingo... I'd stay there again.

If you look downtown, you can find REALLY cheap rooms, and Freemont Street is pretty cool at night. You can take the bus down to the strip for 2 dollars (or $5 for a 24 hour pass) I've seen rooms online for under 20 bucks a night...

I'd rather stay downtown than at stratosphere... theres NOTHING around stratosphere ... so you'd have to take the bus anyway... why not stay where theres stuff to do outside the hotel?

Excalibur and Luxor are fine. I would try to get a good hotel promotion code. With a promo code you can stay at hotels for good prices. I would check for this.

A great place to stay for little money on the strip is the Polo Towers, which is a time share hotel across the street from the Monte Carlo. You can get a bargain by renting directly from an owner by going to or
My daughter does this when she and her friends go to Vegas. They get a two bedroom/two bath suite with a sleeper sofa in the living room. It has a kitchen so they can make their own breakfast and they buy their own liquor and keep it there. They use the hot tub on the roof even in the winter and there is also a pool on the roof. There is a big window in the living room with a view of the strip. In front of the building is a half price ticket booth where you can get half price tickets to the shows and to restaurants.

None of the hotels on the strip are worth the money. You're paying for a good location but in reality all of the hotels in Vegas are within 10 minutes of the strip. All of the hotels on the strip looks great on the outside and the lobbys are fabulous but the rooms are average and boring. They spend all of their money in the casino's and lobby's.

I stayed the Golden Nugget once and it was nice for someone with a budget. It's also right on the old Vegas strip so there is entertainment and fun things to do near by. They tend to have deals all the time.

Have a great trip.

right now the economy has made it tourist friendly
try this site vegas.com and you will be amazed with the low prices.
When I lived in NJ used that site to book rooms, as low as 29. at the Circus Circus and now live here.
I used the site now for attractions and events. But was shocked with the affordable proces. You can do much better than the $100 per night enjoy the trip

Right now there are several hotels running specials, specially sunday through thursday nights. The information below gives ideas on an average cost per night not the cheapest per night. I assumed your $100 was a per night average cost not for the whole trip.

Review the MGM again for the night you are looking for (has some deals less than $100 per night average) or Treasure Island, you can also go to priceline.com and check rates for the dates you want to go to see what maybe available in your price range. You can also bid on them of what you are willing to pay, just be aware that you can pick the area and hotel rating but not the hotel.

If you like a specific hotel go to their web site and check the rates you will be better off to book the room direct with the hotel.

Another site to try is vegas.com you can get a very good idea of what room are going for. For example Ballys (center strip) has an average cost of $66 per night for five nights from 1/23/09-1/28/09 ) Friday through wednesday based on two people in a room. All of the hotels charge extra for more people and most (not all) limit four to a room. How you get around that is up to you.

Some other examples for that same week are:

MGM $93 ave
Luxor $69 ave
Monte Carlo $70 ave
Harrahs $53 ave

These prices are also during a week when there are no big events or holidays which can add to the price of the room. Be aware of what maybe going on the time you want to go.

Well you get the idea.

Good luck and have fun!

Been to Vegas five times last year and planning more in 2009
