Are there any affordable places to live in the Vegas area?

Where can I find affordable apartments/studios in vegas?
I found some 1/2 bedrooms near the college campus for about $500-$700. Are there any places like that nearer to Las Vegas Boulevard or Fremont Street?

I’m not too concerned about the size of the place, but I am concerned about the quality of the apartment and its surroundings.
My situation is that I’m planning on working on or near the strip itself (and playing poker there regularly) and there’s a chance my girlfriend will be going to UNLV.

   There are no apartments or studios in Vegas, only hotel rooms. The price you are quoting is a daily rate for a deluxe suite at places like Mirage and Bellagio.

   You do not want to live Downtown. If you are going to UNLV, live close because otherwise you will have a long drive thru travel to get to UNLV.

   That is a very good price for a two bedroom. The ones by my house at the west end of the valley are $1,400

   then you don’t want near the strip or Fremont St. If you are new to town - I don’t know your situation - but I’d avoid East side or North LV - Not BAD places but there’s better There are places kinda close to the strip -I’d try behind the Gold Coast (Flamingo/Wynn) up to Pennwood/Valley View area- sorta quiet/kinda low cost/close to strip & bus

   Listen to the others. If you’re planning to attend UNLV stick with apartment complexes close to the college. There are a few great ones in the area such as Tamarus Park and Andover Place. Not bad on rent and somewhat quiet from what I am told. Areas around Fremont St/Downtown are crackwhore, homeless, and addict central. Do NOT go there unless you’re looking to get mugged, beaten, or killed.
