What clothes to bring to Vegas in August?
DL12 asked:
Going to Vegas in August and staying at the Tahiti Village Resort with my wife. We are going to be visiting family, but we will be going out at night to casinos, shows and restaurants. No clubs. Should I bring a lot of dress clothes? How hot is it over there? Is it ok to wear shorts and tees and sneakers? Thanks.

Bring anything COOL!!!!
Temps in Vegas, run over 100 pretty much every day. Nights are pleasantly warm, but also bring at least 1 warm jacket or sweater, just in case…

I do NOT agree with Demoer phi. I have been to Vegas several times and it is very casual unless you are going to a restaurant or club that states otherwise. Even the shows are casual dress. It is extremely HOT in Vegas in August. Bring cool, comfortable clothing. You can bring some dress clothes, but on the whole tees, shorts and sneakers are just fine.

During the day you will need to be in shorts and light shirts. It will probably be over 100 degrees during the day.
At night, its does cool down. Still very warm, but the dry desert air doesnt feel to bad once the sun goes down. You can wear long pants, but wear something that is still light.

During the day, it is REALLY HOT so bring cool clothing, casual. When you are on the strip, at casinos or shows, dress up but it is still pretty warm. Honestly, people are all dressed the way they want and anything goes… it’s Vegas!! Have a great time

You will have to sit thru a high pressure sales pitch at TV from what i hear. during the day shorts tees and sneaks are ok, but when you go out, its time to step out. dress accordingly, you are going out for the evening after all. During the day temps run 100-116(the last time i was there in aug.)

It is so hot in August, if it was legal, you could go naked. And still get heat stroke.
Shorts, tees and sneakers are fine for all but the swishiest joints.

I just returned from Vegas today and it was HOT. I am from the midwest and am used to heat with humidity but this was a different kind of heat… Think OVEN. It was warm even at night. I took WAY too many clothes. You would be fine to wear shorts and tee shirts most of the time. It was a very casual place. Even at the shows people were dressed casually. You may want to take an nicer outfit or two if you go out to a fancier place for dinner but other wise casual clothes are fine. You pretty much see everything there. Just be prepared for the heat and take very comfortable walking shoes!

Dress for really hot weather! Triple digit! In the middle of August, Vegas can reach 120+ degrees!
Summer nights in Vegas can be a little cooler, but it still very hot. Very hot and dry. Summer nights can be about 90-100 degrees. Dress clothes aren’t necessary unless you plan to eat at a fancy restaurant. Some restaurants require business casual dress code. But generally speaking for everyday, going out to the strip, site seeing Vegas, shorts and a shirt will suffice. It’s ok to where shorts, tees, and sneakers. Flip flops even.
