Vegas taking an economic hit? Why can’t I find a great deal on hotel for flights there?

sooners83 asked:

I hear Vegas has been hit hard by these economic times. However, when I search the web for good deals on hotels or flights, I find the same values. Nothing better than a few years ago… Does anyone know where to find these great deals, or do I need to call the casinos for this?

I know several people that are getting week free stays as comps etc.

Spring break is coming up and people flood Vegas this time of year. If you want a good deal you have to go in the off season. The best time is mid August because most people don’t want to be in the desert heat even though they spend the majority of their time in the casinos.

Hotel Casinos are DIRT cheap right now. Not sure what you are looking at.

Perhaps you are picking popular dates.

As far as free stays, the only people who get these are people who have gambled huge amounts at the casino. They dont just give them away because you played 5$ black jack or something lol.

You must be doing something wrong. Flights are controlled by the airlines and have nothing to do with Vegas. The hotels are offering rock bottom prices for weekday stays. Weekends are still busy with the California crowd coming in every weekend. The best deals are on the hotel websites directly. You should sign up for their emails where they send out very special prices and deals.

To get free stay as comps you have to have spent lots of money at their casinos. That is about the only way. Only advice is be flexible in your plans to get the best deals. Avoid any special weeks or weekends like NASCAR that are coming up.

It all depends on when you plan to go. The best way to get a great deal is to book them separately. For flights, check sites like Southwest airlines or US Airways. Also do a search on kayak engine. It will check all airlines going to Vegas and all major travel sites and return the cheapest fare.

For hotels, book directly from the hotels using their discount promo codes to get the maximum discounts. Here are a few codes.

The airlines do not really have anything to do with Vegas. I’m sorry you are having trouble finding deals =(

I do know where you can find some though! Check out this link their are great rooms on here for dirt cheap compared to what they used to go for..

The deals are the rooms but check Southwest right now for short term deals

You get the best deal if you book air and hotel seperately IMO. For flights I would check kayak.com and for hotel rooms I recommend - you will find the latest hotel promo codes there.

I’m sure it depends on the time you are going. Last month I booked a flight with Virgin Airlines for a total of $119 round trip from SF. And also I booked with the venetian for $129 per night from sunday to wed. in May. So just keep looking everyday and I’m sure you will get a deal.
